ABOUT THIS COURSE
In every human endeavour there is a vital role of holding the space for the organisation’s purpose and values. The seminal organisational thinker, Peter Koenig, calls this The Role of Source. Working consciously with this role is a powerful way to develop progressive, purposeful organisations.
This online session is for founders, senior leaders and organisation development folks, who are curious about exploring any of the following:
- keeping an organisation’s purpose clear and authentic
- reducing the risk of power struggles
- avoiding reverting back to old-school command-and-control
- understanding how founders can hold the space without it being all about them
- nurturing a culture where people can be fully creative
- planning heartfelt succession so initiatives can last many generations
“Now that I’ve encountered Peter Koenig’s thinking, I have better words for what I called ‘holding the space’, which includes channeling the organization’s purpose.” - Frederic Laloux, author of Reinventing Organizations.
Your host will be Tom Nixon, who has worked closely with Koenig for six years. He will share the key insights from Koenig’s decade of research into the role of source, as well as practical advice for working consciously with source based on his own experience. Following an introduction to the key concepts we’ll use the stories, questions and conundrums of the participants to go deeper.
Join us... you may never look at an organisation the same way again.
This is a Facilitated Online Workshop, so come prepared to participate! In this two-hour session, Tom will begin by introducing a powerful lens to look at the creative initiative that underpins every organisation, centred on the role of source. Then we’ll go deeper through facilitated discussion and Q&A. If you have a particular question or situation you’d like to explore during the session, send Tom a message beforehand and he’ll do his best to fit it in.
This session is an introduction to the topic. We will create opportunities to deepen mastery in the role of source following this session.
This session only has 12 spots available.
